Listen "Episode 3 Knock Out Your Shadow Rachel Dahl"
Episode Synopsis
HI my name is Rachel Dahl, owner of Revive Bodyworks, LLC!
I help driven and active individuals pinpoint problematic issues and create customized massage sessions to decrease muscular aches, pains, or soreness so they can continue doing the activities they enjoy!
I grew up in Jesup, and have lived here the majority of my life (minus a dozen years). I received my first professional massage when I was 14 years old. I received that massage as a gift from my mom for qualifying as a team for the state cross country meet. While I received that massage, I recall thinking that I could see myself doing this for other people. I knew I wanted to help others, but I wasn't sure in what capacity. I decided that I would go to massage school and work part time, while going on to school in another area of the healthcare field.
After graduation, I moved to Cedar Rapids and attended Capri College of Massage Therapy. After becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, I worked part time as a LMT for a group of physicians that treated patients for chronic pain and attended college.
I studied Physical Therapist Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant at Kirkwood Community College. After three years of intensive course work, I received an Associates of Applied Science Degree with a double major.
I worked in a variety of PT/OT settings including outpatient, in patient, skilled nursing, and home health. I enjoyed helping others and the challenge of the work, but felt most fulfilled with the results people achieved through massage therapy. I see changes occur physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In 2012 I decided to follow my dream of having a more balanced life: helping others while having flexibility in my schedule to attend our kiddos' events. I work M, T, Th, & Fri 8:00-3:00 & Wednesday 1:00-8:00.
When given an opportunity to "relax" I love to go for a run, ride a bike, and learn about health and wellness related subjects.
The areas of health and wellness that have been most interesting in the last few years have been the incorporation of cupping, therapeutic grade essential oils, and tuning forks.
