In this episode of 8-bit Monsters' Monster Deconstruction for D&D 5e we look over the piercer and see how deadly this living stalactite can be when it drops from a variety of heights and what happens if it misses. So if it's a 10 ft. drop or a 60 ft. drop, it's going to be a interesting one-shot monster. Going over the piercer we'll also discuss some skills & traits it has and move on to all of the usual stuff.

The idea of this podcast is to break monsters down into their bare components: DCR & OCR. These two values will allow us to see how strong they are and to see where D&D got the CR values from. I'm doing this because all too often, players skip right to level 3 to avoid the hell levels and possibly end up dead. Generally, each monster is a balancing act that isn't equal to the final value.
