In this episode of 8-bit Monsters' Monster Deconstruction for D&D 5e we look over the bandit captain and see how this ruffian leads a band of misfits and dregs of society into a somewhat functioning organization that steals and pillages local towns, travels, and the such. The bandit captain has some new features not yet discussed on the podcast that show how these extra little features really change the final CR of the monster.

The idea of this podcast is to break monsters down into their bare components: DCR & OCR. These two values will allow us to see how strong they are and to see where D&D got the CR values from. I'm doing this because all too often, players skip right to level 3 to avoid the hell levels and possibly end up dead. Generally, each monster is a balancing act that isn't equal to the final value.
