We recap the final weekend of the regular season in Arkansas and Oklahoma football with Rogers securing its first opening round bye since 2006 and Bentonville claiming the 7A West Conference title. Other highlights include Shiloh Christian, Farmington, Elkins and Grove carrying momentum into their respective playoff openers and Jay reaching the playoffs on the last weekend of the season with a late rally at Vinita.The Arkansas cross-country championships took place in Hot Springs, with the Bentonville boys' continuing their near decade of dominance in the largest classification, while the Ozark Catholic boys won their fifth consecutive championship and earn their second promotion in as many classification cycles with the competitive equity factor moving them from 1A to 3A next fall. Head Coach Alicia Schaefer talks about the program's success. Also, the Providence Academy boys and girls both move up to 4A next year after winning their respective 3A championships, which will put them in the same bracket as 4A boys' champion and girls' runner-up Shiloh Christian. Bentonville's girls' would edge Rogers for the 6A title, giving the two schools thirty-five championships between them...their male counterparts now account for 36 titles between them.The All-State tournament and regular season teams were also announced in volleyball.
