We all need somebody in our life to tell us if we look like shit. That’s true love by the way, because it comes from caring not spite.
That person has your interests at heart.
Spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, friend, family…
We need someone to let us know that shirt is too dirty
Those trousers have seen their last days
To occasionally ask are you going to wear that?
We all need some one to be close to, to help us, understand us and always be there during pain or happiness.
That relationship is generally called marriage, but can be a simple as a good friendship.
A great test or guide for determining if you truly have a friend is the 0300 test. Who can you call at 3 in the morning or 0300 military time that would come and get you if you were broken down on the side of the road? This list should be as big as possible. For many of us it is 1 or 2 people tops. How many of your friends would pass the 0300 test?
If no one is on your 0300 list, maybe you should tell someone you’re on theirs. I’ve added a few reliable friends letting them know I’m on their’s. Almost everyone you talk to about it will never have heard of it, but they immediately get the concept regardless of their politics or beliefs.
BTW, when you have 0300 friends you need to try hard to maintain contact with them. Do you best.
A person with human relationships is always happy.
And aren’t we truly lucky if we’re married to our best friend.
