T-Kea Blackman, MPS, CPRS, RPS, lives by the Toni Payne quote: "I rather be living my truth happily than living a lie miserably." She draws from her story of recovery to provide hope and dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide in the Black community. At her core, T-Kea is a creative social entrepreneur and a dedicated mental health advocate. As the executive director and co-founder of Black People Die By Suicide Too (BPDBST), T-Kea leads strategic planning, fundraising, and stakeholder relations to advance the organization's mission to reduce suicide rates and increase mental health awareness among Black individuals. Additionally, she is the founder of the Mental Health Empowerment Agency, a consulting firm that specializes in strategic communications, training and workshops, and program management in mental health. A resilient suicide attempt survivor, T-Kea is celebrated as a transformational speaker, mental wellness training consultant, author, health communications expert, certified peer recovery specialist, and registered peer supervisor. Through her leadership and lived experience, she champions creating safe, supportive spaces for Black individuals impacted by suicide, promoting healing, empowerment, and resilience.
