Listen "To Be “Born From Above”: Both Metaphor and Experience"

Episode Synopsis

This is a sermon preached by Pastor Tino DiSiena  spoken from John 3:23-26; 1 Peter 1:3,4. Miraculous signs draw Nicodemus and others to Rabbi Jesus & He’s got to be from God. (John 3:2) Is this always so? No! Those who are primarily sign seekers only and not seekers of truth may be bound to a materialistic view of the Gospel. They might not see its fuller spiritual purposes, beyond only the earthly benefits (Note John 2:23-25). Note also 2 Corinthians 11:14 “Satan can also masquerade as an angel of light. Note also Matthew 24:24, 2 Thessalonians 2:9, 1 Corinthians 12:10) Even those miracles genuinely from God do not ensure decisions to be disciples. They only introduce and encourage commitment. The miracles introduced Nicodemus to Jesus, but he needed to go further, and he did. Note John 7:50; 19:38-42. Jesus is not only a miracle worker but, “The Way, the Truth and the Life.” John 14:6.
