Listen "Children’s Mental Health with David Spinner"
Episode Synopsis
Why are we the way we are today? Why do we handle conflict the way we do, treat relationships the way we do, and view ourselves the way we do? Well, most of these feelings and responses stem from our childhood. David Spinner shares his expertise in this episode of how we can protect children by creating a safe and positive homelife and stepping in when we see a child in a negative situation. Our brain begins developing and absorbing the environment around us as early as us being in our mother’s womb. So it is important that we find safe and healthy ways to discipline our children while allowing them to feel safe enough to share their struggles with us. Even if it is not your child, there are important signs to look out for in a child that is struggling. As a divorced parent of 2, David also shares his experience and best practices he has learned from co-parenting. There is a balance we need to find in providing routine, consistency, and flexibility, so that our children can be given the best opportunities for success. Yet sometimes even when we do our very best, a child can still be struggling and there are important signs to look for to protect children’s mental health and David shares everything to look for and ask.
