God’s plan has always been restoration, but first, there was judgment. The world in Genesis 6 was out of control. Violence, corruption, and people rejecting their Creator. So God hit reset with a flood. But even in judgment, He made a way to preserve life through Noah and his family just like Jesus is the way to salvation from sin and death. Sin still corrupts. Evil still tries to rule. But God is patient, ready to restore, and waiting for people to turn to Him.
