Dr. John Steckley is a Canadian scholar specializing in Indigenous languages of the Americas and other anthropological and sociological studies. He is the author of one of Canada’s best-selling sociology textbooks, Elements of Sociology—it was while preparing a new edition of this book that he became interested in the life of Sophia B. Jones.
