Every now and again people say something truly intelligent. Usually that person has a solid grasp on history and on human nature. I'm building a collection here of exactly that sort of thing.

The thing about reading history, even if you are one of those excellent folks who reads original documents, letters, diary entries, and the like... without an appreciation of human nature and motivation you are likely to struggle when it comes to reading between the lines and filling in the gaps.

I'm right now on the hunt for more of Theodore K Rabb, Mark Blyth, Jonathan Haidt.
