There is an old song that says “The world behind me the cross before me”. That lyric is well understood, when we follow Christ we leave the pattern of the world behind. However, once we receive the miracle of the finished work of Jesus in his death, burial and resurrection our position shifts from one of looking for the miracle to one who has received it. The transformative miracle of the cross has empowered us to overcome the temptations found in the world system and give us the call to share that miracle with those we come in contact with.
