Listen "843. Luke, Chapter 16 (#2) - The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil - July 23, 2025"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 23. I will then key in on verses 4 & 5 - Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease! Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. Friends, we need to put our trust in God (and His son Jesus) and not our money or material things. On today's podcast I will begin by going over the three points that I introduced on Monday's podcast (Episode #841 - If you did not get a chance to tune in I invite you to check it out). On today's podcast we will cover Chapter 16 of Luke's Gospel, verses 9-13. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:1. Money in and of itself is not a problem, but the of money is.2. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.3. You cannot serve both God & mammon.Scriptures referenced on today's lesson:Proverb 23:4-5; Luke 16:9-13; 1 Timothy 6:6-10; 17-19; James 1:9-11; James 5:1-6Call to Action: - Do you have a love of money? How would you contrast your desire for money as opposed to your love of God?
