Listen "836. Luke, Chapter 15 (#4) The Son Expected nothing and relied completely on the mercy of his father - July 14, 2025"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 14. I will then key in on verse 12 - There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Friends, in the parable of the prodigal son, the son thought he was right , but - after squandering all of his inheritance he came to the realization that he had messed up (as many of us have done in our lives). We will begin today's podcast by reviewing the three points I brought up on last Thursday's podcast (Episode #834 - If you didn't get a chance to tune in, I invite you to check it out). We will then continue our story of the prodigal son - Luke, Chapter 15, verses 17-20. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:1. The son expected nothing and relied completely on the mercy of his father.2. It took courage and a strong commitment to the Lord for Nathan to speak these words to the king.3. The father of the prodigal son is an example of how Jesus forgiv es us of our sins.Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:Proverb 14:12; Luke, Chapter 15:17-20; 2 Samuel 12:1-14Call to Action - If you were die tonight do you know where you would spend eternity?
