They were to be trained – to be assimilated – into the culture...
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego resolved not to defile himself in the Babylonian culture around him. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to the false god that King Nebuchadnezzar had built and commanded to worship. Daniel refused to stop praying to God when the King’s decree outlawed it.
Throughout all this God moved...and He will still move in our Babylon today.
