What is a blessing? The oldest recorded passage of Scripture written down anywhere in the world is a blessing – the one that the priests were commanded to bless the Israelites with. As we continue our study of prayer – we turn our attention to a prayer for the greatest gift imaginable in the Old Testament – God’s presence and favor.

The Israelites were taught to pray real prayers - not abstract and intangible, but real and personal. Join us this week as we turn to the book of Numbers to see how the history of the Jewish people gave important context to their need to learn to pray in such a way. We will study together this first example of a model for prayer and blessing.
