We are heading back into the land of independent game development as we chat with the creatives behind Bodeville, Alexia Mandeville and Bo Boghosian. Alexia (AKA "Flex") and Bo
bring experience from massive online games including Niantic's Peridot, Pokémon GO, and Meta's Horizon. Flex and Bo formally started Bodeville in October of 2022 to create truly independent, self-financed studio focusing on narrative games and short-form indie experiences.
Flex and Bo have a new game releasing the day this episode drops (January 17, 2024) called Grift. We talk with them about their endeavors so far with Bodeville, including last year's Chief Emoji Officer, the Steam Demo Watchmakers, and of course Grift.
A description of Grift:
You're a goat, and you're seeking revenge.
In Grift, play as Henry Horns, a goat who's scamming people on social media while trying to find his nemesis, Gwendolyn Goat. Dress up bots and scam your way to the top by unlocking new conversations and new ways to interact with your targets. Maybe you'll discover something new about yourself along the way?
