Master Your Money1. The Dangers of Money 1 Timothy 6:9-10 Those who WANT to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the LOVER OF MONEY is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, EAGER for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefsThe trap of debt.b. The trap of self-sufficiency.Deuteronomy 8: 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.c. The trap of the enemy.2. The Purpose of Money a. Conform His power.10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!” - Abraham Kuyperb. Learn contentment.6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 1 Timothy 6:c. Grow community.ROOTED – Giving is not God’s way of raising money. It’s His way of raising people with surrendered hearts. He wants people to learn to trust and love Him. 3. The Plan for Money9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,  with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,  and your vats will brim over with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-106 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
