Over the last 23 years of the song’s existence, there’s a better than zero short you’ve heard “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” from Nine Days. Well, we got the wonderful opportunity to speak with the frontman John Hampson to get an inside look on the revitalization that the song is experiencing. Best known for this mega hit that still occasionally pops in our head or sends us on a nostalgia trip of the early 2000’s, John Hampson of Nine Days is experiencing what any artist could only dream of. At the moment, this song is living a second, third, and fourth life due to becoming a vital part of one of the most talked about movies in years, A24’s Everything Everywhere All At Once. It played a major role itself in the movie, which we highly recommend viewing, but the track is also about to be used in the upcoming Apple TV+ series, Shrinking, starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel. The episode is out on February 3rd and we’re urging everyone to enjoy that as well.
