Listen ""Another Light" Art Exhibition at Union Project"
Episode Synopsis
Union Project is hosting a new art exhibition that is a culmination of a seven year spiritual journey.
Executive Director of Union Project and artist of the exhibition, Jeffrey Dorsey, talks about his exhibit "Another Light: Making Space for Healing". Jeffrey talks about the story behind the project, which started seven years ago after he tore his ACL playing soccer. For months, he was confined to a chair, and spent much of it in silence, meditating. In his meditation, he found a voice calling for him to start this project of twelve portraits of people.
Over the years, this project has transformed into an exploration of liminal space (threshold moments), and collective healing, transformation, and transcendence. Jeffrey paired the portraits with a QR code that leads the audience to hear the subject's stories in short audio interviews.
Jeffrey hopes this exhibition allows everyone to reflect, heal, and find peace.
You can see "Another Light: Making Space of Healing" at the Union Project from April 5th to 29th. There is an opening reception on April 5th at 3 pm, featuring a drum circle! All are welcome.
