This episode of the Podcast explores a topic that truly breaks my heart. Unfortunately, in 2021 slavery is still very much with us. In fact, modern day slavery is estimated to be a $150 billion industry globally with 46-64 million people still held in situations of slavery. I'm joined by Rachel Harper of UNSEEN, an international lawyer and manager of the modern day slavery helpline to discuss the data from the recently published annual report from the helpline. We discuss the patterns emerging during the pandemic and the policy implications for addressing this systemic issue in our society.
