April 9, 1981 Fernando Valenzuela was forced to start opening day for the Dodgers as Jerry Reuss injured himself 24 hours before the game. Fernando would unleash the second greatest pitching streak in baseball history and turn the Dodger fan base upside down with is incredible performance.
