The devil wants to divide your heart, so that it’s not all with Jesus. He wants you to ride the fence. To play both sides. God wants all of you. He wants all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. Long ago, the prophet Elijah asked God’s people: “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him” (1 Kings 18:21). How would you answer? When you see Christ’s commitment to you this Lenten season, may his grace lead you to throw off everything that hinders you and take up your cross and follow him.
