With over three decades behind the decks, Richie Hartness has carved out a reputation as a true champion of underground house. Emerging from the fertile cene in the UK back in 1997, he honed his craft during house music’s formative years, developing a sound rooted in deep grooves, soulful textures, and timeless dancefloor energy, and a key player in the promotion of labels such as Toko, Paperecordings, Glasgow Underground and many more.

His journey has taken him far beyond his these legendary foundations,to become a familiar name along with the excellent West Coast US deep house scene, where his sets have continued to embody the deeper side of house.

As founder of UM / Untitledmusic and UM Records, he has become a curator as much as a DJ. His labels and mix series have been instrumental in shining a spotlight on an army of fresh talent from across Europe, the US and South Africa, giving emerging artists a global platform while staying true to the deeper vibes that define his vision. And introducing a new generation of deep house heads to new names, brave sounds and a community built of a shared love of music.

Today, UM Records is recognized as a leading imprint dedicated to the progression of deep house. Whether through his carefully crafted DJ sets, influential podcasts, or the label’s ever-growing catalogue, Richie continues to push boundaries while holding firm to the underground ethos that has defined his career.
