Listen "Liberal Throne Speech 2019"
Episode Synopsis
PUBLISHED: 12/16/2019 The federal Liberals unwrapped their Throne Speech with many promises for Canadians. The only problem is the vision is about as clear as your view in a blinding snow storm. Governor General Julie Payette read the road map the Grits are laying out for their next mandate. This one will be a little trickier to navigate with just a minority behind the wheel, depending on the support of the Bloc or NDP to make things happen. Within the foresight for Canadians, more strides toward climate change, a more affordable middle class, an aim to reduce homelessness and a closer relationship with Canada’s indigenous peoples. All laudable goals, but the point of a map is to tell you how to get somewhere, and this seems to be quite vague. The vote on the Throne Speech will come in the New Year. ———————————— Please register your vote on this topic at: https://www.unpublished.vote/issue/527/2019-liberal-throne-speech and email your MP to tell them why you think the way you do. ———————————— GUESTS: Warren Kinsella http://warrenkinsella.com/ Frank Graves https://ipolitics.ca/author/frankgraves/ ————————————REFERENCES: https://globalnews.ca/news/6265022/pablo-rodriguez-throne-speech-western-alienation/ https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/singh-says-bloc-won-t-push-government-after-supporting-throne-speech-1.4719205 https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/mulcair-what-the-throne-speech-reactions-tell-us-about-party-leadershttps://beta.canada.com/news/national/conservatives-say-trudeau-throne-speech-an-insult-to-people-of-alberta-saskatchewan/wcm/ef4ffcbb-f131-479c-b4dd-c3222c02a8c8/amp/ https://www.canada.ca/en/privy-council/campaigns/speech-throne/speech-from-the-throne.html https://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/throne-speech-2019-justin-trudeau-pours-on-the-restraint/https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/2019/12/05/what-does-it-mean-the-throne-speech-interpreted.html https://ipolitics.ca/2019/12/05/in-throne-speech-liberals-recommit-to-pledges-on-climate-economy-and-reconciliation/ https://ipolitics.ca/2019/12/02/throne-speech-to-offer-canadians-a-preview-of-how-trudeau-will-govern/ https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/liberals-survive-first-confidence-vote-in-new-parliament-1.4724666 https://globalnews.ca/news/6294905/andrew-scheer-private-school-funds/ https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/scheer-s-resignation-sparks-questions-about-conservative-party-s-future-1.4729100 https://globalnews.ca/news/6292315/andrew-scheer-resigns/ https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/who-could-replace-andrew-scheer-as-conservative-leader-1.4727997 https://nationalpost.com/news/verbatim-andrew-scheers-resignation-announcement-in-the-house-of-commons https://nationalpost.com/news/here-are-some-possible-contenders-to-replace-andrew-scheer-as-conservative-leader https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/windsor-tecumseh-conservative-candidate-says-scheer-resignation-right-thing-1.5394656 https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/bvggaw/eleven-people-who-could-replace-andrew-scheer-as-the-next-conservative-leader https://www.tvo.org/article/why-andrew-scheer-had-no-choice-but-to-go
