Living From the Super-consciousness
"Powerlessness to Powerfulness"
Hey U-nity,
So, let’s face it, there are so many things and people that we are powerless over.  That doesn’t stop us from trying not to be, but that resistance generally leads to unmanageability as they say in the twelve step healing fellowships.  The unmanageability is always about resistance to what is.
My powerfulness comes from realizing that I don’t need to make what happened not have happened, but to think correctly about it.
Recently, I overheard a discussion that was about me…or at least it seemed that it was about me.  Actually, it was about what someone thought about me.  I took quiet offense.  I say quiet because I didn’t let anyone know I could hear them.  I sat feeling offended for a bit and then went into prayer.  I went within and I said, “Spirit, tell me what to think about this and what’s the Truth here?”  I immediately thought about the Four Agreements Class I had just facilitated and I thought, “Don’t take it personally.  This is about what someone thinks and not about me at all.”
That doesn’t mean I’m not affected by it, but only to the degree I allow it to affect me and in what direction I send the information.  I felt tremendous relief with the thought, “It’s not personal, because what they are saying isn’t true”.  If it’s not true, I don’t have to defend myself or attack the other person for saying it or even the other person for listening.
This is very new for me.  In the past I would have steamed and made myself very unhappy thinking it was their fault I was unhappy.  Today, nobody is at fault for my life.  If I’m unhappy, it is because I haven’t sought the counsel of Spirit. It’s because I haven’t sought Truth in my thinking.  Remember the instruction, “And you will KNOW the TRUTH, and the Truth will set you free.  I want to be free in my conscious mind.  Do You?
I hope so,
Rev. Shawn
