When we put ourselves above or below someone, that is a vertical relationship. When we honor someone exactly where they are, that’s a horizontal relationship. We should aim to have horizontal relationships regardless of position, experience, title, etc.We discuss how we can put more attention and intention around the way we are relating to the people in our lives. We distinguish between praise and encouragement, and how one is meant to manipulate while the other is meant to draw out someone’s courage.
