With the practical and indeed rustic common sense so characteristic of Jesus in his story telling, where he tells stories in simple terms that the people of his time and all times will grasp the meaning of, he once again goes to metaphors and stories that people in rural settings will grasp immediately. Firstly, today it’s about the simple truth that only good trees bear good fruit. Then it’s Jesus making the simple point that buildings only survive if they rest on firm foundations. What does this mean for our faith journey?
