Episode Synopsis

A bunch of kids running wild in a park hunting for chocolate and candy – what could possibly go wrong?! Make sure your egg hunt is safer and a lot more fun for everyone by following these top tips from Carnival Savers!
Tip number 1 is to divide your participants into groups based on their age, making sure no children, particularly toddlers, end up overwhelmed or overrun by over-excited older kids. Carnival Savers recommends separate groups for toddlers, pre-schoolers, kindergarten to second grade, and third to fifth grade.
The guide suggests, “Depending on your area to hunt, you may wish to have children hunting for eggs at different times, or you may divide your hunting area by age and let all children search for their eggs simultaneously in sectioned-off locations.”
Secondly, Carnival Savers recommends you set clear hunt boundaries for the children involved, defining areas that are out of bounds so the young participants don't wander off and find themselves in unsafe or unsupervised areas.
“It's wise to have volunteers on the perimeter of your hunting areas just to ensure everyone stays within the area set by your team. Several ways to mark off your hunting areas include colorful pennant banners or hanging flags, plastic play cones, or yard signs so your little hunters know where to stop hunting.”
The third Egg Hunt tip is to make sure all candy or toys you use to stuff the eggs are suitable for all children involved in the event. Food allergies to things like nuts, wheat, or eggs are increasingly common nowadays so choosing treats that are safe for everyone means that parents can relax on the day.
The same applies to toys. For example, most novelty items that are small enough to fit into regular sized plastic eggs are unlikely to be safe for toddlers so choose wisely!
Carnival Savers sells a wide range of toys suitable for events like these. Check out what's available on the website today!
“Our team carefully plans out a fantastic assortment of spring-themed and favorite toys that all fit inside standard-sized Easter eggs," a spokesperson explains. "These adorable toys include mini fluffy chicks, spin tops, erasers, bright rings, funny bunny finger puppets, and more.”
Tip number 4 involves adding some games into the mix. You can access a list of DIY, carnival-style games via the Carnival Savers website including Ducks In A Row and Crazy Caterpillar, both of which will add to the fun of the fair.
Their final suggestion is to add other activities such as face painting, sand art, or a temporary tattoo stand to keep kids entertained beyond just the egg hunt. Everyone can join in the fun!
