We've all heard of it, most of us have seen it happen, some of us have participated in it (intentionally or not), and some of us have been victims of it. The act of keeping people out of a community or hobby because you don't think they belong. They're the wrong gender, the wrong skin color, the wrong sexuality, not enough of a fan. There's another kind of gatekeeping too though, one that's more widespread and more insidious.
Note: Being excluded as a consequence of your actions is not gatekeeping.
