Listen "71: Slacker (1990) and Short Cuts (1993)"
Episode Synopsis
Text Matt & Adam!"Vignettes" is the theme for the latest episode. First up, Richard Linklater's, "Slacker" (1990), a film in which the camera follows different people around Austin and captures moments in their lives. Adam thought it was able capture the early nineties. Matt liked it, but it's not that memorable. Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" (1993) is based on Raymond Carver short stories, but Adam felt the the stories are much better/darker than the film. Matt thought it was too long and had too many actors who weren't able to work well in Altman's improvising style.Next up, Drinking Films with Barfly (1987) and Denmark's "Another Round" (2020).Thanks for listening!Contact the show: [email protected]: https://www.facebook.com/24theRoadShow Have your own recommendations?
