As a young middle school coach(young in experience not age) I would arrive at school, enter the field house to put my things down and it seemed every morning Coach Z was at his desk, feet up reading the newspaper(we did that back then) and he would almost always beat me to the morning greeting, “morning coach”, and I would respond in some sort of monotone voice saying, “good coach”, you? It never failed that he would respond with “everyday is a great day” and I would just shake my head thinking this guy is a fool. Everyday is not a great day. I am exhausted raising my family, starting a new career, broke and in debt. I worked with Z for 2 years and not a day went by that he didn't remind me that everyday is a great day.
