LOVE. It’s easy to feel we can be loved only if we are lovable, if we have done things that make us worthy and significant to another, especially to God. The story of the shepherds declares clearly and boldly that God values us, no matter what our worldly status is. God’s love does not depend on our physical characteristics, social standing, job, education, performance, or anything else we possess or lack! But there is more to this message. The second message is that we are never too insignificant to be used by God. The shepherds, whose flocks supplied the sacrifices for worship were given the privilege of testifying to the one who would be The Lamb of God.
