Listen "Saints Triumphant -- God's Saints Make History -- Daniel 12:1-3 -- November 14, 2021"
Episode Synopsis
Send us a textThank you for joining us this morning! When Daniel wrote this, things were looking up. They were still in Babylonian captivity, but they knew it was coming to an end. The thought that they'd soon be able to go back to Jerusalem, rebuilt the temple, and worship together again was very encouraging. In this vision that God gave to Daniel, he reminds us that things in this life will be hard. The great equalizer in life is death. Death is not something to fear. We do not fear being insignificant in this life, not doing enough, not being great enough. Because in death, we have eternal life. Our names are written in the Book of Life, written when Jesus suffered on the cross, died, and rose. How are we significant in this life? We are in the Word, we pray before meals, we come to church... all these little things bring us closer to our Savior, and God says we will shine like the brightness of the heavens. Daniel 12:1-3“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
