Listen "Be Holy"
Episode Synopsis
Truth & Knowledge: Episode 24 – “Be Holy”
In this episode, Trey Knowles explains that to be holy means to separate ourselves from everything ungodly and to live fully aligned with God's Word. Holiness is walking in the truth and goodness of Jesus Christ. Scripture says, “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).
To live holy means refusing to watch, listen to, or approve of anything ungodly. As 1 Corinthians 13:6 declares, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” We are called to operate in God's Spirit of love. If anyone claims, “I can't be holy,” that is a lie—Christ was crucified not in vain, but to make us holy through His righteousness.
Trey points to Titus 2:11–14, which teaches that the grace of God brings salvation and instructs us to say “no” to ungodliness, to live with self-control, and to eagerly pursue what is good as we wait for the return of Christ. Through Jesus, we are redeemed, purified, and set apart as His people.
The key to holiness is abiding in Christ. As 1 John 2:5–6 says: “If anyone obeys God's word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”
Holiness, then, is not optional—it is our calling and our identity in Christ.
