Listen "Venice, Italy: Learning to Row a Venetian Gondola đ¶"
Episode Synopsis
Season 7 â Gap Year: Mediterranean Europe
Episode 9
Looking for a less conventional way to see Venice? Instead of a traditional gondola ride, we decided to book a private lesson to learn to row Venetian style. While it wasnât as relaxing as being escorted around by a singing gondolier, it definitely gave us a new level of respect for these talented oarsmen. Watch our video of the trip, to see what itâs like: https://youtu.be/bFDWrdQeFzY.
Gondolas are more than just a fun experience, they are a practical mode of transportation in the world of Venice. With 120 islands and 177 canals, this floating city is ruled by boats. Itâs also home to a number of palaces, one of which we actually stayed in! Click here to see our AirBnB on the Grand Canal, which took 15 years to refurbish (not sponsored): https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/13907155?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=27a51712-5f88-4cab-91c4-e2029c68f346
