Having grown up in the restaurant business, Brian spent eight years studying and working abroad in England, Austria, and Spain before finishing a hospitality degree at Cornell University. After four years as an officer in the Air Force (he worked with Air Force One - you may have seen him on CNN saluting the president) he returned to Seattle to join his brother Mark at the helm of Canlis: the landmark restaurant built by his grandfather in 1950.
