Listen "Prosthetics, Accessibility Gadgets & Dynamics of Relationships with Miles O’Brien | Episode #47"
Episode Synopsis
We had such a stimulating and informative conversation with Miles O’Brien this morning. Miles is a broadcast news journalist specializing in science, technology, and aerospace. He is the science correspondent for the PBS NewsHour, a producer and director for the PBS science documentary series NOVA, and a correspondent for the PBS documentary series FRONTLINE.
For nearly 17 years in the news business, he worked for CNN as the science, environment and aerospace space correspondent and the anchor of various programs, including American Morning. Miles has traveled the world for the news.
In February of 2014, Miles had an accident where he had to have his left forearm amputated. Miles was stacking cases onto a cart after a reporting trip to Japan and the Philippines, when a case filled with TV equipment fell on his arm, causing compartment syndrome and eventually resulting in the loss of his left arm above the elbow.
