Listen "When Perception Meets Reality."
Episode Synopsis
Some people make things happen, some watch what is happening, while most say 'what happened'. Charles was sitting in a huge auditorium waiting for the legendary Tom Jones to come on stage and entertain over ten thousand people from the Century 21 Real Estate worldwide network. Over the previous few days, he attended as many breakout sessions as possible, along with the main final day, which was full of the best speakers in the world at the time. Charles was on a high, and as an Australian in the early nineties, everyone wanted to speak to you! All the Australians attending wore Australian Akubra hats, made famous almost a decade earlier by Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee! Everywhere I went, people stopped me and wanted to chat. Mind you, as an Australian born with Lebanese heritage, I looked like an idiot in an Akubra, but who cared as it worked for me in the USA! People focus too much on how they look, but as we all change over time, it also must be about how you think, how you act, how you behave, how you perform and how you treat others. In this episode, Charles has an unusual experience. Perception can be a nasty liar and can often entice the unsuspecting into doing business with the unqualified bullshit artist. You can fake it until you make it, but eventually, your authentic self will catch up with your now.
