Because of science, the question, “When does life begin?” is no longer relevant today in the pro-life and pro-choice discussion. The question in the debate between the pro-life and pro-choice groups has now changed to “When does a fetus become a person?” or “When does a baby become a person?” The notion of personhood has to do with awareness. The pro-life view says the fetus is a growing person from the moment of conception.
