Listen "Haliburton County's Arthur Bachelor plus the sinking of the HMCS Esquimalt"
Episode Synopsis
This week, Kate talks about Arthur Bachelor and his legacy in early 1900's Haliburton. Arthur was a classic mover and shaker who was into EVERYTHING and contributed so much to the community - and died too young under tragic circumstances. Plus, Paul talks about the minesweeper HMCS Esquimalt, its fateful meeting with the German submarine the U-190, and how the two ships came to rest together forever on the ocean floor. The HMCS Esquimalt was the last Canadian warship sunk in WW2 - roughly 3 weeks before the war ended.
