This week Kate talks about early Haliburton County Schools, an 18 year old teacher - Lola Chaney - and some early students. Plus Paul talks about William Nielson Edward Hall - the first Black person, first Nova Scotian and third Canadian to receive a Victoria Cross medal for military valour. It was awarded for action in India during the 1857 Indian Rebellion.
