Listen "theCoderBros Retire to Hawaii"
Episode Synopsis
Alan Tien ruminates about retiring and living the good life after having run the Paypal China group years ago. A long time friend of the bros, Alan was a Stanford undergrad to the dismay of his parents, who wanted him to go to MIT. Two pretty good choices when you're accepted to both. He's also lived around the world from Shanghai when it was thriving, to Singapore when it was hot (i.e., all the time), to now spending half his time in Hawaii. Early on, he founded an Asian social club called M-Society that, cheesy as it was, ended up allowing lots of young Asians to meet and eventually marry, including Hansel and his wife Lisa! He also helped launch the Asian American Research Center at Stanford, raising some big bucks while doing it. Alan Tien = life goals.
