Listen "Finding Inner Happiness and Connections For Moms with Anna Bohuslavska"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, we dive into a journey of transformation, resilience, and emotional growth with Anna Bohuslavska, a transformational coach and inner guide dedicated to helping women break free from societal expectations and craft lives of true happiness. Originally from Ukraine, Anna now resides in the U.S. and focuses on supporting emotionally exhausted women, particularly mothers, who often find themselves overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. Through her work, Anna helps them rediscover joy and purpose.Anna’s Journey: From Software Development to Emotional HealingAnna's path to becoming a transformational coach is a story of listening to an inner calling. Though she initially pursued a career in software development, she had always been drawn to psychology. Her mother once discouraged her from the field, fearing Anna's empathic nature would make it too emotionally taxing. But the desire never left her. Later, as a new mother, Anna encountered emotional struggles of her own. She felt isolated in her journey, unable to turn to her mother for guidance due to their distant relationship. These challenges led her back to her passion for psychology, focusing specifically on the dynamics between parents and children. What began as a quest for answers to her own questions evolved into leading support groups for parents. The more she connected with others, the clearer it became that much of what parents struggled with stemmed from unresolved issues within themselves. “If moms themselves would be healed, if moms themselves would be happy,” Anna explains, “many of the questions they bring to the table wouldn’t even arise.”Breaking Free from Societal ScriptsThrough her coaching, Anna empowers women to step away from the rigid roles that society often imposes on them. Many of the women she works with feel trapped, believing they have to put everyone else’s needs before their own. This leads them to become emotionally unavailable, not only to themselves but to their families as well. Anna’s journey to the U.S. right before the pandemic amplified this feeling. Suddenly, she was unable to pursue her dream of leading in-person support groups, and the isolation began to take its toll, leaving her burnt out and unfulfilled.Anna saw herself becoming the very kind of mother she had always strived not to be—one who was constantly busy and unavailable. She recalls waking up and immediately thinking, “When will this day be over?” It was a powerful realization that she needed to make a change, to rebuild her life with a holistic approach that would let her stay true to herself. Her journey of self-healing and rediscovery formed the foundation of her coaching practice, where she now guides women to do the same.Modeling Happiness for ChildrenOne of the key insights Anna shares is the importance of modeling happiness for children. She believes that telling kids to “follow their dreams” means little if they don’t see their parents doing the same. “If we don’t show by example,” Anna notes, “they won’t truly understand it.” Children absorb not just what parents say but how they live. When parents prioritize their well-being and pursue their dreams, it sends a powerful message. This lesson became a core part of Anna’s coaching philosophy. Instead of putting personal desires on hold to focus solely on family, she encourages mothers to explore what truly brings them joy. Many women she works with can’t even list three things that make them happy, as they have spent so long prioritizing others. Anna helps her clients reconnect with themselves and discover their true desires, showing them that it’s not only okay to want more—it’s essential. The Importance of Support and Asking for HelpA significant barrier that Anna sees among her clients, especially mothers, is the reluctance to ask for help. She shares her own experience of moving to the U.S., leaving behind the...
