Listen "Trying to get out of an all time low and regain my physical health"
Episode Synopsis
No tips or lessons learned. Today, I will discuss wellness and well-being when running your own business. πΏπ§ββοΈ
2013 was the year that I broke my knee (March 2013), and a few months later, I took the plane to Cardiff, UK, leaving everyone I loved behind. βοΈπ
Slowly I recovered and got back into the gym and mostly running (trying to fight depression, but this is another story for another day). πββοΈποΈββοΈ
I started running 5K, 10K and two half marathons from 2017 to 2019. π π
Until November 2019, I tried bouldering, and I destroyed my meniscus once more. π§ββοΈπ
This injury, combined with parenthood and COVID-19, brought my weight to an all-time high and my fitness and confidence levels to an all-time low. βοΈπ
Every time I had to decide between exercising or sitting on the couch, I was always choosing the couch. ποΈπ«
Whenever I had to decide between eating a normal portion or binge eatingβ¦ Well, you can understand what I choseβ¦ ππ€·ββοΈ
I have been doing therapy sessions 2-3 times per week for the past five years (trying to get out of depression, remember?) π¬ποΈ
Last month, I decided that enough is enough and that I must take care of my physical health, too. ππͺ
So, I started to do PT sessions with a fantastic trainer here in Cardiff and I am more mindful of my portions. ποΈββοΈπ
And I have already started seeing the benefits of how I am daily. ππ
So why todayβs video? π₯β
I implore you to care for your mental and physical health, whether running your own business or working as an employee. πβ€οΈ
OK, I got it out of my system and can now rest! ππ΅
I wrote this text while listening to my favourite Guns N Roses: Outta Get Me! πΆπΈ
Be well, my friends, and see you tomorrow! ππ
