Listen "Something's gotta give"
Episode Synopsis
Why do we keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome? Our elected officials are failing us. They've been failing us for a long, long time. Switching from one party to the other party and back again just isn't working. Australia is in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis. The cost of rent, mortgages, groceries, petrol, electricity, clothing, medicine, and the doctor's visit has gone through the roof. So what’s being done about it? To curb inflation, the RBA has increased the cash rate again. It's the highest in 11 years. That means you, the normal person who needs to buy stuff, will be paying even more because your rent or mortgage or that pile of credit card debt or the massive loan your ex-wife left you with after your divorce will cost you more. So the RBA has made the reasonable decision to increase the cost of living even more. So let's turn to the leaders we elect. We have this illusion of democracy where it seems like we have complete control over who we elect, where we’re told you can elect anyone but it has to be either this fool from this horrible party or this clown from this ridiculous party. Call me crazy, but Australians deserve a government exclusively devoted to their interests. I also think the top priority for any such government would be to ensure a family can afford a home on a single income. That’s the standard we should be demanding.
