Listen "EPISODE 190 – Setting the Stage for Tomorrow"
Episode Synopsis
What does it take to keep a mainstay like the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival thriving for generations to come?
The Fringe is turning 44 this year — and it continues to bring artists, audiences, and community together in spectacular fashion.
From August 14–24, 2025, Old Strathcona transforms into a city within a city, filled with theatre, food, laughter, and connection. But behind the scenes, keeping a festival of this scale sustainable takes more than just creativity. It takes planning, mentorship, and long-term financial vision.
In this episode, we speak with Erin Voaklander, Director of Fund Development at Fringe Theatre, about how Edmonton Community Foundation’s Endowment Sustainability Program (ESP) is helping the Fringe lay the groundwork for a thriving future.
