There is a direct connection between "thanking" and "giving".  While many Americans give, often it's based on guilt or convenience.  As soon as we start rooting our sense of generosity in our thankfulness for how God has blessed us, we are moved to give on a whole new level.  God has granted us so many different blessings in our lives.  Understanding the satisfaction, contentment, and joy in the blessings we know makes it that much more exciting to share a taste of what we have been blessed with as we become more sensitive to the needs around us.
