The idea of "religion" is nearly synonymous with rituals and ceremonies. It's difficult to imagine a faith that doesn't have some form of orthodoxy, but where does this idea come from? So many have gotten tripped up believing that faith is about attending the right programs or services, but it's really about so much more. When too high a premium is placed on the human aspects of faith, it can become easy to slowly fall into a trap of practicing a soft form of "idol worship" rather than worshiping the thing that "idol" is meant to represent. God is not a set of customs and practices; He's so much more than that.
