Certain phrases and philosophies have embedded themselves into our cultural ethos.  Are they just harmless phrases?  Do they have any intersection with our faith?  Absolutely!  The Bible warns us against mingling our eternal priorities with our worldly perspective, yet many struggle to set a firm hierarchy of authority for their own life.  Which is more important: the practicalities and wisdom of the world or our God-given calling to love, care, and support one another?  If the calling is number 1 in our lives, people should be able to see it as a result of our willingness to do things which are not culturally popular or beneficial.
